Large lobed leaves provide dense shade. Candelabra shaped clusters 25 cm.(12") of red flowers bloom at the ends of the branches in end of May.

Ohio Buckeye

One of the first trees to leaf out in the spring. The palmately compound leaves are unusual and attractive, especially in the autumn when the fall color is a range of shades of yellow, orange and red. Greenish-yellow flowers are produced on large panicles in spring followed by large light brown fruit capsules which contain the buckeye seed.

Common Horse chestnut

White flowers in clusters 12 Ó 30 cm (5-12") long in late May. An abundance of chestnuts also appear in October. Dense foliage excellent for shade. Suitable for city conditions.
