How does the 5-day trial work?

When you complete the HortiClick! WebStore sign-up form, your free 5-day trial of HortiClick! WebStore automatically begins. At any time during your free trial you can test-drive HortiClick! WebStore, publish your test-drive storefront, modify your texts and images, choose and publish your products, and even open for business.

 

You can test your website free of charge for five (5) days. After this free trial, your customers won't be able to access your website. Should you wish to continue to benefit from your website features, do not hesitate to register by following the next steps.  If you decide to register to continue using your website, your will enter your credit card ant it will be billed monthly accordingly to your plan. Then you may continue to work on your HortiClick! WebStore as often as you like. Remember that subsequently, you will always be able to end your monthly subscription if you desire to do so at any time. To end, you just need to go to your "administration website page" (Admin.) and click "End my Website Now".

 

Step by step to subscribe after the 5-day trial period (we invite you to print this page to remember the process for future needs) :

  1. Access our administration section at www.horticlick.com/admin
  2. You must login by using your user name and password specified during your 5-day free trial registration
  3. Click on the "Invoice" icon (blue circle on top of the page), then click on the "Invoicing" hyperlink
  4. Save your information by clicking on the "Save your settings" button

Remember that subsequently, you will always be able to end your monthly subscription if you desire to do so at any time. To end, you just need to go to your "administration website page" (Admin.) and click "End my Website Now".

Do I have to know HTML to build my HortiClick! WebStore? Can I use code if I want to?
HortiClick! WebStore works for everyone, whether you know HTML or not.

If you don't know HTML, our point-and-click tools make storefront design and management as easy as typing in the name, price, item number, etc., for each item you plan to sell, and clicking links to make selections about color and layout. Here is an example of how easy it is getting started with your HortiClick! WebStore:

 

First step to building your HortiClick! WebStore is to create the page. HortiClick! WebStore lets you build your pages quickly and easy through wizards.

  • Pages - We provide you a default set of pages to get you started. You can work with these or create new pages. Either way, it’s all done with wizards!
  • Styles and Templates - Getting the right look and feel is as simple as browsing through our library of pre-defined color themes and layouts. You can add new styles and layouts too if you choose!
  • Site Branding - You can brand your site easily by adding a company logo, custom welcome message and slogans.

All that power and with no programming!

On the other hand, if you know HTML, you can add HTML tags to the text that you enter or, if you're an advanced coder, you can also perform sophisticated technical functions.

Do I need any special hardware or software to use HortiClick! WebStore?
All it takes is what you're using to read this page -- a computer with a web browser (Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer) and an Internet connection.

To include business images and staff pictures in your Store, you may want to have access to a digital camera or scanner. Take note that HortiClick! WebStore has thousands of plant pictures, so you don’t really need to include your own pictures. Unless you are a grower or a supplier and want to include a new product picture.

Can I use a custom web address, like www.my-web-store.com?
Yes, many of our merchants use custom web addresses (also known as domain names) with their storefronts. (HortiClick! WebStore includes a built-in domain registration service that lets you register your own web address or transfer one you already own. (Available soon)) For complete instructions on redirecting a domain, please contact us.

Do I have to buy a custom web address if I don't have one?
No. All HortiClick! WebStores automatically receive a free custom HortiClick! WebStore web-address, like www.horticlick.com/yourstore . You do not need to purchase a custom web address to use HortiClick! WebStore.

I have an inventory database. Can I use it to build my store?
Yes. You can upload your database files, inspect the data, and then build your entire site with one click. Several of our largest merchants have built their HortiClick! WebStores this way. (Available soon depending of your package)

Can I change a store once I've created it?
Yes. You can update your HortiClick! WebStore as often as you want, from any Internet-connected computer. Some of our merchants update their stores several times a day. You don’t need to pay someone else every time you need to modify a text, a promotion, a price or a picture… HortiClick! WebStore gives you complete freedom to modify your store as offen as you need.

 

You can edit your site behind the scenes, while visitors continue to shop at the current version of your store. Then, when you publish your revisions, the updated version of your site becomes visible instantly.

Can I build my HortiClick! WebStore with other programs?  

HortiClick! WebStores must be designed with the HortiClick! Online Store Builder. You can add your own graphics and backgrounds, but because HortiClick! WebStore is a web-based software application it is currently not possible to upload sites or pages created in other programs to HortiClick. Our staff can help you in the integration of your current website.

I already have a web site. Can I just use HortiClick! WebStore for the e-commerce features?
Yes. If you already have a website, or if you want to design the bulk of your store using a different program, you can have your custom pages hosted elsewhere and then place a hyperlink on your main site to take shoppers to your HortiClick! WebStore for the shopping cart. This gives you the flexibility of keeping existing pages while having the functionality of the HortiClick! Shopping cart. Order Processing & Merchant Accounts

 

How can I receive orders from my customers?
There are four ways to receive orders:

  1. Via e-mail. You can have orders posted to you in real time. You will receive an email every time a customer click on the “Send order” or “Send a request” buttons in your HortiClick! WebStore.
  2. Online. Most merchants view their orders online: Just go to the HortiClick! WebStore homepage, sign in to your account, and go to your Store Manager to view orders over a secure connection.
  3. As a database file. Some merchants with large inventories, high sales volume, and/or bricks and mortar businesses choose to retrieve their orders in a single database file, available in common database formats. This allows the merchants to integrate web orders into an existing order stream.
  4. By fax. This works for merchants who want instant notification about new orders but can't be online all the time. (Available soon, some fees apply)

Can I process credit card transactions online using my HortiClick! WebStore?
You may process credit card orders online or through your existing in-store (offline) system. Customer will transmit you their credit card number by e-mail. In our opinion, offline it is the best way to start. (Online service will be available soon)

I don't have an Internet merchant account yet. Can HortiClick! help me get one?
Yes, you will be able to apply online through the HortiClick! WebStore. Your application will be processed shortly. If you're accepted, your new merchant account will be hooked up to your store automatically. (Available soon.).

To automatically process credit cards online, you must use the HortiClick! WebStore, have merchant account, and a processing interface. Accepting credit cards can lead to increased sales, improved customer loyalty and may even become your competitive advantage. With the HortiClick! WebStore Credit Card Services, you can accept credit card payments online, in-person, by telephone and by mail. All this with no application fees, no long waits to get approved, no up-front deposits, and no need for special equipment or swipe terminals. Just the simple convenience of speedy, reliable transactions.

I already have a merchant account. Can I use it with HortiClick! WebStore?
You can use any preexisting merchant account to process your HortiClick! WebStore orders offline. If you have a preexisting merchant account that is compatible with our Merchant Services', it will take just few business days to link it to your HortiClick! WebStore to allow online credit card processing. (Available soon.)

Can I restrict access to my store through the use of a password?  

Some merchants want to keep parts of their store open to "members only". This is possible for “Wholesalers” only through the use of a password. Unfortunately, it is not possible to restrict access to your HortiClick! WebStore when you get a “Retail Package”. We may offer such a service in the future for retailers, but there are currently no plans to do so any time soon.

We use industry-standard SSL encryption to transmit credit card information securely on its way from the shopper to our computers, and from our computers to you, the merchant.

Will anyone else have access to my sales data?
Absolutely not. HortiClick! publishes aggregated statistics, but we never disclose sales data for a specific HortiClick! WebStore unless we have received your prior consent

We understand how much direct marketers value customer lists, and our policy is that this information is your property. We do not sell customer names, nor do we use them ourselves.

How do I set up a store?  

Simply click on "Start my Free Sign Up!" on the previous page, select your package, view and agree to our terms of service, and follow the instructions from there. After setting up your account, you control, create and run your store. You enter your product data and our online Store Builder will generate the web pages. It's easy!
